Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen 2005
Becca Hester, the 17-year-old daughter of Hess and Julie Hester, was crowned Miss Oklahoma ‘s Outstanding Teen on Friday night, June 10, 2005 at the ORU Mabee Center in Tulsa . Competing as Miss Teen Oklahoma City University, Becca was awarded over $2500 in scholarships and prizes for winning the title as well as the Spirit Award and Overall Interview Award. For the talent portion of the competition, Becca sang an updated version of Irving Berlin’s “Let Yourself Go.” A Senior at Jenks High School , Becca is a member of the Trojanaires Show Choir, was the JHS Relay for Life Captain for 2005, and has been cast in several school musicals and drama productions. Outside of school, she enjoys leading a middle school girls Bible study and performing in community musicals. She plans to earn a degree in Musical Theater and hopes to one day been seen on Broadway. Known by her family as the “Ice Cream Monster”, Becca has traveled on missions trips with her church and has met the cast of The Drew Carey Show. to use her program to connect with peers-giving teens a chance to establish a sense of ownership through the rewards of personal involvement in mentoring. This program serves to provide rewarding opportunities for service among high school students while also creating “positive peer pressure” for younger students that look up to the high schoolers. |
